Cancer Care Clinic

We are honored to support you on this journey. Below is a list of how we will approach your appointments and care.

What is the Cancer Care Clinic?

Our goal is to support as many patients as possible including those diagnosed with cancer. In our CCSP we offer a wide variety of personal support, additional specialty testing, and a wide variety of treatments including: nutritional guidance, stress management, nutritional supplementation, infusion therapies, bodywork, acupuncture and more. We understand that every patient has a personal preference for the level of natural therapies that they utilize and we are happy to see patients whether they prefer a completely holistic approach or a combined approach of holistic and conventional medicines. The CCSP is meant to be a part of your overall health care team so that we can work with all of your practitioners to create the optimal treatment plan for your health and individual goals.

What the Cancer Care Clinic is NOT…

While we provide a wide range of lab testing and treatments, we are not oncologists. We are not a disease based program, which means that while we focus on treating a cancerous condition, we are not only thinking about that but your whole body health as well. We currently do not offer conventional chemotherapy treatments. We will support you in other ways if you choose to include chemotherapy in your treatment plan, but those therapies must be managed by your oncologist. Additionally, we do not perform any surgery, specifically for tumor removal or debulking, this again requires a surgical oncologist for these specialized procedures.

How the Program Works:

You will be scheduled for a 2 hour initial consultation with Dr. Mallory Mahoney. These visits can be in person in Traverse City or via telemedicine. During this time you will go through all of the details of your condition and history which will be the backbone of all further visits and treatments. Any documentation you can provide ahead of time is helpful, but we will also request all required physician notes, oncology reports, lab results, and additional information you’re unable to attain ahead of time. We will discuss an initial treatment plan including testing, supplementation, dietary considerations and future plans at this visit.

Follow-up visits are usually weekly and last 45 minutes. Visits include answering questions, discussing symptoms, reviewing lab results, serving as a team member if you are receiving treatments at other facilities, and modifying the treatment plan as well as everyday details that promote your care and wellness.  We will additionally recommend a combination of oral supplementation, infusion therapies, physical medicine visits, acupuncture and/or medical spa services based on your needs.

Once we have received your records and have as much information as possible, you will have a 60-minute follow up appointment with both Dr. Andrea McSwain and Dr. Mallory Mahoney for our assessment of the information collected, your current treatment plan and how we will approach your care moving forward. These specific visit types occur every 3-6 months or as needed.

A wide range of testing is important to appreciate root cause analysis and support the body in its healing process. We offer testing for metabolic, infection evaluations, cytokine testing, nutrition evaluations, toxic metals.

Research Genetics Cancer Center (RGCC) Testing:

We will likely recommend this cancer specialty test within your first two visits. We are the only practice in the state of Michigan currently offering this specialized testing (although it is offered in 183 countries) which looks at the genetics of your specific cancer cells. We are able to gather significant data from this test to assess your current condition, monitor your progress and develop a comprehensive targeted therapeutic plan.

MCHM offers you a range of services in your treatment plan. Tailored nutrient program via oral supplements, infusions, and injections. Detox and immune support infusions including ozone, UBI, high dose vitamin C, alpha lipoic acid.

Supportive Oligonucleotide Therapy (SOT) Therapy:

SOT induces rapid apoptosis in circulating tumor cells (CTCs), circulating cancer stem cells (CSCs), primary tumor cells, and metastatic tumors. In addition, it is able to cross the blood-brain barrier. As it penetrates into these cells it will interfere with their ability to replicate. Your MCHM doctor will recommend a PET/CT, CT, or

MRI scan prior to the SOT to assess the cancer for any metastasis. To reduce the risk of mild to severe adverse reactions, and to adjust the SOT dosing and timing, according to each individual case. SOT can be completed multiple times in a year. Cancer with unrecognized metastasis could result in Tumor Lysis Syndrome (TLS). Although a rare occurrence, TLS can be life threatening. At MCHM, we take measures to prevent TLS.

Treating Disease at the RNA Level with Oligonucleotides

We estimate the cost of this comprehensive care to be approximately $25,000 – $30,000 for the first 4-6 months of treatments. This cost would include all of your naturopathic visits, physical medicine treatments, infusions, medical spa services and supplements. This does not include the cost for your RGCC testing or any additional specialty testing required. We understand that this is a significant financial investment, and we will do our best to work with every patient and their individualized circumstances.

Medical IV Infusions- Must Be a Patient

To further enhance the success of our patients, we use more advanced infusions that include stronger antimicrobial properties, cancer care support infusions, behavioral health issues, severe nutrient deficiencies, and many more. Infusions rich in vitamin-mineral nutrients allow the doctor that you work with to be able to recommend targeted supplements with a faster delivery mechanism throughout your body.

High dose NAD for cognition impairment, substance abuse recovery. Work closely with your physician led team to reduce dosages of addictive medications like benzodiazepines, anxiolytics, antidepressants.

Ascorbic Acid is a powerful antioxidant. It lowers inflammation (as measured by hs-CRP) quickly. Patients who are receiving cancer treatment use vitamin C as adjunctive therapy because of its cytotoxic properties.

IV infusions of high doses of vitamin C along with various other antioxidants and nutrients may be given to assist in treating various conditions including chronic fatigue. High doses of vitamin C given intravenously have very few gastrointestinal side effects, yet offer 200x bioavailability.

Each patient is individually evaluated and a specific treatment protocol is recommended. Dosage varies from 15,000mg to 75,000mg.
